Hillcroft, Salcombe

Hillcroft is a recently refurbished 4 bed Victorian mid-terraced house with accommodation spread over three floors. Large bay windows provide lovely views across the village and over the estuary.

Located in a quiet residential cul-de-sac, this substantial property is ideally positioned to take advantage of all that Salcombe has to offer, A 5 minute walk will take you to either Fore Street or Island Street which are both bursting with shops, restaurants, art galleries and inns.

It is also just a short walk to the passenger ferry that takes you across the river to the stunning sandy beaches of North and South Sands, Smalls Cove, Mill Bay and Sunny Cove.

You enter Hillcroft into the lobby area that has space to hang your coats and wet suits. This leads through into the open plan dining/lounge area.

Lounge

Recently decorated and lovingly restored, this modern, fresh spacious room is the perfect space to relax after a hard day at the beach! With comfortable sofas and a large farmhouse table there is plenty of space for everyone. Also on this floor is the fully fitted kitchen and back door leading to the rear garden.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms, family bathroom and a separate shower room.

Bed 1 is at the front of the house and has a beautiful view over Salcombe. It houses a King Size 5’ bed, and has plenty of wardrobe space.

Bedroom 1

Bed 2 looks over the back garden. This houses a bunk bed, the bottom bunk is 4’ wide, so can sleep 2 and the top one is 3’ wide so can easily accommodate adults if necessary.

Bed 3 and Bed 4 are on the top floor. The front room is a twin room with 2’6” beds, which can be hooked together to create a double. Bed 4 has one single 3’ bed.

Outside there is a good sized private garden arranged over tiers with lots of space for al fresco dining.

Salcombe is a bustling seaside town renowned for sailing, quirky local shops and great places to eat and drink. Situated in the South Hams, at Devon's most southerly tip, Salcombe attracts visitors from all over the world at all times of year to enjoy many coast and country activities. Famous for sailing, diving and fishing the estuary has many sheltered, sandy beaches and is a great base for walkers to enjoy the South West Coastal Path.

The Salcombe harbour is a safe haven for visiting yachts and is a fantastic arena for sailors of all ages and abilities. The Yacht Club holds a regatta in the summer with many dinghy classes and there are a number of opportunities for boat hire and tuition. Whether you’re kite surfing, paddle boarding or wild swimming, Salcombe and the surrounding areas provide fantastic scenic opportunities for trying out all sorts of water sports.

The estuary also acts as home to a fleet of fishing boats whose haul include a wide range of fish including crab and lobster. Spend an evening strolling along the tiny streets and taste the local produce in one of the many eateries in Salcombe! Venture slightly further afield for delicious fresh seafood and try the Winking Prawn at nearby North Sands or the Beach hut located on the beach in South Milton or the Oyster Shack in nearby Bigbury.
